For a Virtual Reality (VR) startup aiming to produce a virtual drivers’ education experience, I implemented an external focus-group research program. This qualitative research was coupled with an applied psychology and market research report of relevant studies and their relation to the client’s aims in order to produce a behaviorally-informed client attraction and retention plan. Additionally, I applied human factors evaluation methods to assess the VR prototype, including both a physical ergonomic evaluation of the driving vehicle and a UX analysis of the HMD software. The report was sent directly to the CEO, and the design recommendations were implemented before the tool was released to a population of local high schoolers.
